Kay and Jay reunite to provide our best, last and only line of defense against a sinister seductress who levels the toughest challenge yet to the MIBs untarnished mission statement: protecting the earth from the scum of the universe. It's been four years since the alien-seeking agents averted an intergalactic disaster of epic proportions. And now it's a race against the clock as Jay must convince Kay-who not only has absolutely no memory of his time spent with the Men In Black, but is also the only living person left with the expertise to save the galaxy-to reunite with the MIB before the earth submits to ultimate destruction.
Agent J needs help so he is sent to find Agent K and restore his memory.
The earth is facing a new threat and Agent J (Will Smith)is on it. Agent K (Tommy Lee Jones) is bought back from his &quot;retirement&quot; (he was flashed in the end of the first movie and doesn&#39;t remember he&#39;s an agent). But only parts of his memory recovers. Together with Agent J they are looking for hidden clues to find his past, which is going to lead them to &quot;the light of Zartha&quot;. But the alien queen Serleena (Lara Flynn Boyle) wants the light for her own evil means.<br/><br/>This sequel is almost as good as the first one. Almost, because the first one had some more moments of laugh and is was more unique then this one. But it&#39;s worth seeing and you&#39;ll probably have a great time watching The Men in Black protecting the Earth from the Scum of the Universe, again.
As far a sequels go, Men in Black II isn&#39;t bad, but it fails to captivate and amuse the audience like the original film did.<br/><br/>The film is packed with whiz-bang computer aliens and plenty of jokes, but the film just seemed like a re-hash of the first. It never seemed like the film was exploring new territory in the Men in Black universe. Will Smith, Tommy Lee Jones, Lara Flynn Boyle, and Rosario Dawson give good performances throughout the film, but the plot is often hard to follow. Sadly, this film falls short because of the excellent quality of the original Men in Black. When you are watching the sequel, you can&#39;t help but wonder how good it could have been.<br/><br/>Still, it provides (at times) good, if forgetable, entertainment and should be seen by anyone who enjoyed the original. **
Apart from this going-postal moment, and a nice song from Frank the Pug (a resident alien from the original, played by the same dog), MIIB is pretty much a disaster – repetitive beyond belief, and so busily inconsequential that it neuralizes your brain and leaves you with nothing to respond to. Men in Black II, like its predecessor <a href="/title/tt0119654/">Men in Black (1997)</a> (1997), is taken from a script that is based on a Malibu comic book series called The Men in Black by American writer Lowell Cunningham. It was followed by <a href="/title/tt1409024/">Men in Black 3 (2012)</a> (2012). <a href="/title/tt2283336/">Untitled Men in Black Spin-Off (2019)</a> has been announced, but no release date has been set. It doesn&#39;t. <a href="/title/tt0127385/">Men in Black: The Series (1997)</a> was made after the first film but before the sequel, and they are not meant to form a single, coherent continuity. Apparently, the MIB agents arrested him. The movie implies that he is but never makes her paternity explicitly clear.
